i lost my dark blue colored pencil so it will actually be impossible to finish this. let’s all pray to the prismacolor gods that i’ll find it so i can actually complete a drawing for the first time in a year. also please have faith that i will properly flesh out that awful claw of a hand.

Anonymous asked: What program do you use to draw on the computer (i.e. Photoshop)?

I use Photoshop rarely, although it was is what I used most of my life. I’ve been using drawing programs since childhood. But otherwise I use “paintbrush” which is the mac osx equivalent of MSpaint.

drawplay asked: Is going to art school worth my time and money? It's hard to say, Lord knows it's expensive. I've grown so much as a person here, that's not to say that I wouldn't have experienced growth anywhere else. I love being surrounded by so many different and immensely talented people. I love my professors and the community here is so close and welcoming. I don't know if I will stay in Baltimore after I graduate, but theres a community I've found here that I've felt nowhere else.

Community is really important. I didn’t really feel a community at all at the college I went to. I felt a deep sense of community with my fellow art students in high school so I guess that may have ruined the experience for me a little bit. I didn’t feel like I was surrounded by immensely talented people either… a few of my peers really impressed me but for the most part I didn’t feel challenged by anyone around me. And that’s super important for me.

It doesn’t really matter anymore though. I’m not going to take another step into the art world for a very long time and that’s totally fine with me. I’ve definitely moved on.

And finally: If you go to a school for art, do you feel satisfied with the education you’ve received so far? Do you feel it’s been worth your time and money? Any complaints, or appreciations? and where do you expect to go after you’ve finished?

Send an ask.

Here’s a better question: How has tumblr affected you as an artist? Do you feel it motivates you to work harder or does it overwhelm your creativity with too much stimuli?

Feel free to send an ask.

I’m curious: How many of my followers go to school for art?
